About this playlist
M.A.O — legal name Ichimichi Mao — built her musical identity out of two anchor character roles: Sagisawa Fumika in Idolmaster Cinderella Girls (since 2015) and Pecorine in Princess Connect Re:Dive (since the 2018 anime preparation). She has no solo career under her own name. Every song that exists in her catalog is character- credited or ensemble-credited, and the playlist’s frame is built around what those credit forms collectively add up to.
Where to start listening: track 1 — Bright Blue — because it’s the single highest-charting song attached to M.A.O as a performer and it introduces the Sagisawa identity that the rest of the playlist extends.
Five tracks is what the catalog actually supports
M.A.O has no solo career under her own name. No artist-credit singles, no albums, no standalone band. Every song in this playlist is character- credited or ensemble-credited — to Sagisawa Fumika, to Pecorine, to Yui Hanasaka, to Mineral★Miracle★Muse. A standard twelve-track playlist isn’t the right size for her, and not because of an editorial decision. The catalog that’s actually discoverable on Spotify under searchable credits is thinner than her full credit list suggests — most Cinderella character songs only exist as two-minute GAME VERSION cuts rather than full versions, and the One Room / Samurai Flamenco / Princess Connect Character Song 15 ensemble material is absent from 2026 Spotify.
Five tracks is what the catalog honestly supports once those verification problems land. Shrinking to five is not a curatorial choice — it’s the honest count, and framing it as such is more respectful to her than padding the playlist with weaker material to reach a round number.
The two anchor roles
Sagisawa Fumika (Idolmaster Cinderella Girls, since 2015) is the chart anchor. Cinderella Master 031 — her Sagisawa solo single — reached Oricon #4, the highest single-slot chart position attached to M.A.O as a performer. Fumika is not the franchise’s front-face character, which is what makes the chart position striking: a supporting-cast character song reaching the top five is the kind of result that comes from a role landing with exactly its audience.
Pecorine / Yūsaki Kasumi (Princess Connect Re:Dive, since the 2018 anime preparation and the 2020 TV adaptation) is the streaming anchor. The flagship heroine of a Cygames mobile-game franchise that ran two full anime seasons. Her Gourmet Guild trio work (Connecting Happy!! and Season of Travel) and the franchise’s ensemble character-song albums are where most listeners will actually encounter M.A.O’s voice in song form.
The cross-cast moment
Princess Connect Character Song 15 places M.A.O (Pecorine) on a six-voice ensemble track alongside Aoi Yūki (Suzume) and Inori Minase (Kasumi) — both in the Symphogear cast. Three Symphogear voices on the same Princess Connect ensemble, all in the same character roster. The track itself isn’t on Spotify in 2026 — so it can’t appear here — but the cluster is worth naming because the crossovers companion will need to reckon with it, either as a one-track slot if the track surfaces or as a dedicated Princess Connect cross-cast build.
The five tracks, in detail
1. Bright Blue (2015)
Cinderella Master 031 / Sagisawa Fumika. Oricon #4. The recognition anchor for the Cinderella-aware audience and the highest chart signal in her catalog. Opens the playlist because every other slot extends from or contrasts with the Sagisawa identity this song establishes.
2. Lost Princess (2020)
Princess Connect: Re:Dive OP. Anime recognition anchor. Pecorine’s flagship song from the adaptation that introduced her to the non-mobile- game audience. Combined with slot 1, the front two slots cover the catalog’s two strongest commercial pillars — chart position from Cinderella, streaming reach from Princess Connect.
3. Connecting Happy!! (2019)
Princess Connect Welcome to the Gourmet Guild trio anthem. Extends slot 2’s Pecorine anchor — the role has more than one song, and the trio mode is a distinct register from the OP. Also the bridge into the Princess Connect ensemble work that the With Pecorine companion will extend.
4. Season of Travel (旅立ちの季節, 2022)
Princess Connect S2 OP. Same Gourmet Guild trio as slot 3, three years later — shows the trio’s evolution and pairs with slot 3 to bookend the Gourmet Guild era within this playlist.
5. Bright Blue (M@STER VERSION, 2015+)
Cinderella anthology rearrangement of slot 1’s anchor. The playlist circles back to the Sagisawa identity in a different production form — signals that the catalog has more depth than the original single carries on its own, and closes on the role that defines her commercial ceiling.
Her Symphogear contribution
M.A.O voices Vanessa Diodati — one of three Noble Red villains introduced in XV (S5, 2019), the final season. Vanessa, Millaarc (Aimi), and Elsa (Kana Ichinose) are Faust Robe wielders; the trio functions as XV’s season-long antagonist unit, distinct from the AXZ Bavarian Illuminati trio (Saint-Germain, Cagliostro, Prelati).
Noble Red has zero character-song releases. The contrast with the AXZ villain trio is deliberate and sharp. Saint-Germain, Cagliostro, and Prelati each got a solo character song plus a trio duet across the AXZ character-song series. Noble Red got none. XV’s villain design kept the trio voiceless on the music side — their contribution to the franchise is narrative.
For an artist with a zero-solo catalog like M.A.O’s, this is the rare case where a Noble Red role produces nothing to move and nothing to exclude. The sub-playlist for Vanessa would be empty; the five tracks above are the full non-Symphogear picture available on 2026 Spotify.
What was considered and left out
Zero franchise-side exclusions
Noble Red produced no music, so nothing on the Symphogear side pulls material out of this playlist. The cleanest franchise exclusion profile in the cast — matched by Aimi and Ichinose for the same reason.
Considered for companions
- Harumachi Clover (One Room S1 OP, 2017) — Yui Hanasaka’s the closest M.A.O comes to a solo identity: a slow-tempo seasonal song in Yui’s solo-vocal register. The character-credit form masks what’s functionally M.A.O singing alone. Currently absent from 2026 Spotify under findable credit forms; would be added the moment availability opens.
- More Cinderella Sagisawa material. Cinderella’s character-song catalog is large; sub-units like CAERULA and Einferia place Sagisawa in multiple Cinderella configurations. Most deep cuts exist only as two-minute GAME VERSION cuts on 2026 Spotify. Held for M.A.O · With Sagisawa Fumika.
- More Princess Connect ensemble tracks. Gourmet Guild has multiple albums; the larger Priconne ensemble catalog has more multi-voice tracks. Held for M.A.O · With Pecorine — which overlaps deliberately with potential Princess Connect entries for Yūki and Minase.
- Mineral★Miracle★Muse alternates — Samurai Flamenco S2 ED Flight 23-ji (2014) is M.A.O’s earliest music credit but currently absent from 2026 Spotify.
- Princess Connect Character Song 15 ensemble — the strongest cross- cast moment in this Symphogear cast; off-Spotify as of 2026-04.
- Kamen Rider / tokusatsu live-action credits — M.A.O’s tokusatsu- idol background (Kamen Rider Heisei generations, Ressha Sentai ToQger) is acting rather than music; not slated.
Companion playlists
- M.A.O · With Sagisawa Fumika (Cinderella) — Sagisawa solo + Cinderella sub-units (CAERULA, Einferia) + Cinderella ensemble appearances. ~12–15 tracks expected.
- M.A.O · With Pecorine (Princess Connect) — Gourmet Guild trio + larger Priconne ensembles + Pecorine solo. ~12–15 tracks expected, with cross-cast overlap planned alongside Yūki and Minase’s eventual Princess Connect entries.
A naming hazard worth noting
A separate artist records as MAO (the SID bassist, maofromsid.com) — different person, different career. Streaming search in her character- credit form is the reliable way to find her vocal catalog.
