About this playlist
Kana Ichinose’s catalog runs through cast bands rather than solo work. XX:me from DARLING in the FRANXX (2018), 潟女DIY部!! from Do It Yourself!! (2022), Suzu Kanade in Ayakashi Triangle, Lyra in Cinderella Nine — character-credit and ensemble-credit forms across the board. The closest she has come to recording under her own name is one self-cover of her own show’s opening theme, and that single recording carries an unusual amount of weight on a six-track playlist.
Where to start listening: track 2 — 君よ気高くあれ - from CrosSing — because it’s the one moment in her catalog where Ichinose records under her own name as a solo vocalist, and the song she chose to cover is the opening theme of the show in which she plays the lead.
The structural identity is a cast band
Ichinose’s catalog enumeration is short and specific. Zero solo singles under her own name. Zero standalone unit memberships outside in-fiction bands. The songs exist in character-credit or ensemble-credit form — as XX:me from DARLING in the FRANXX (2018), as 潟女DIY部!! from Do It Yourself!! (2022), as Suzu Kanade in Ayakashi Triangle, as Lyra in Cinderella Nine, as Yutoria in Shachou Battle. Her music presence is the music her characters make.
XX:me sits at the structural center. The five-voice cast band from DARLING in the FRANXX produced three ED themes that trace the 2018 show’s emotional arc — トリカゴ, 真夏のセツナ, Beautiful World. The playlist carries two of the three (slots 4 and 7); the third, Beautiful World, isn’t on Spotify at present. XX:me also cross-casts Ichinose with Shizuka Ishigami (#12 in the Symphogear lineup, voicing Ikuno in the same FRANXX cast) — a fourth confirmed shared in-fiction band among the Symphogear voice actresses, alongside Criticrista, HTT, and RO-KYU-BU!.
The self-cover is the one solo moment
In 2023, Ichinose recorded a cover of 君よ気高くあれ — the opening theme of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury — for the CrosSing project, Bandai Namco’s cover-recording series. She voices Suletta Mercury in that show. The cover is her, alone, under her own name, performing the song scored to her own lead role’s narrative arc on a different production.
This is what “closest-to-solo identity” means when the catalog has no solo career. Not a solo single in the industry sense, but a self-aware act: a seiyuu picking her own show’s theme song for the one time she sings as herself. The track lands at the playlist’s second position because the moment earns the prominence.
Six tracks, not the ten that were hoped for
A ten-track lineup was the original aim. Four of those tracks don’t resolve on Spotify: 千夜一夜 (Lyra’s Cinderella Nine full version), 真夏のセツナ full version, おやすみ (Yutoria’s Shachou Battle ED, Columbia mobile-game niche), and Beautiful World (XX:me’s third ED). The honest answer is to ship six tracks rather than fill the gaps with less-earned substitutes — the catalog genuinely doesn’t supply those other four on Spotify, and this playlist represents what’s actually available. The other XX:me ED (真夏のセツナ) and the Lyra full track route to a companion if availability changes.
The six tracks, in detail
1. どきどきアイデアをよろしく! (2022)
Do It Yourself!! OP, performed by 潟女DIY部!! — the in-show six-voice cast band. Highest Spotify play count in Ichinose’s catalog (~580k) and the playlist’s recognition anchor.
2. 君よ気高くあれ - from CrosSing (2023)
The self-cover. Ichinose’s solo recording of The Witch from Mercury OP, the show she leads as Suletta Mercury. The catalog’s one moment of “Ichinose, alone, under her own name” — which is why it earns slot 2 rather than a later placement where it would read as a novelty.
3. Cream Dream Parfait (2024)
Suzu Kanade character song from Ayakashi Triangle. A different-franchise solo character song in modern-era (2024) production — demonstrates the Ayakashi Triangle role is substantial enough to anchor a slot of its own, separate from the cast-band identities.
4. トリカゴ (Torikago, 2018)
XX:me ED #1 from DARLING in the FRANXX. Career-debut-era anchor. This is also the cross-cast moment with Shizuka Ishigami (#12) — same cast band, both in the Symphogear cast.
5. 続く話 - Kawaii Mix (2022)
Do It Yourself!! ED — the Selfie + Purin duet version. Pairs with slot 1 to give the 潟女DIY部!! identity dual-track coverage across the unit’s OP and ED modes.
6. 厭わない feat. Miyu Tomita + Kana Ichinose (MIMiNARI, 2023)
Sony-music feature credit — the most grown-up sound in her catalog. A 2023 MIMiNARI track featuring Ichinose and Miyu Tomita in producer-side billing rather than character-credit form. The structural pivot: different label-side ecology, different vocal register. The closing track because it shows where the catalog is going as Ichinose’s music identity matures past the cast-band frame.
Her Symphogear contribution
Ichinose voices Elsa Bête — one of three Noble Red villains introduced in XV (S5, 2019), the final season. Elsa, Millaarc (Aimi), and Vanessa (M.A.O) are Faust Robe wielders; the trio functions as XV’s season-long antagonist unit, distinct from the AXZ Bavarian Illuminati trio (Saint-Germain, Cagliostro, Prelati).
Noble Red has zero character-song releases. The contrast with the AXZ villain trio is sharp. Saint-Germain, Cagliostro, and Prelati got three full-length trio character-song tracks across AXZ + XDU (no solo character songs; the trio configuration is the canonical form), plus Saint-Germain’s XV redemption duet with Hibiki. Noble Red got none. XV’s villain design kept the trio voiceless on the music side — their contribution to the franchise is narrative.
For an artist whose music identity is already built from cast-band and character-song work, the empty Noble Red sub-playlist is a zero-cost exclusion. The six tracks above are the full non-Symphogear picture.
What was considered and left out
Zero franchise-side exclusions
Noble Red produced no music. Nothing on the Symphogear side pulls material out of this playlist.
Considered for companions
- Additional Yutoria material from Shachou Battle deep cuts. Partial availability risk; the main ED (おやすみ, 2020) is a Columbia mobile-game niche release that doesn’t resolve on Spotify.
- Additional XX:me tracks — 真夏のセツナ (ED #2) and Beautiful World (ED #3, XX:me’s most anthemic) both absent from current Spotify catalog; availability may change.
- Additional Lyra material from the Cinderella Nine game’s character-song rotations, including the 千夜一夜 full version.
- Hitoribocchi, Iroduku, Fairy gone character credits — to be swept during companion construction.
Companion playlists
- Kana Ichinose · Character Songs — full 潟女DIY部!! Music Collection, XX:me Ending Collections (if availability opens up), Lyra Cinderella Nine tracks, Yutoria Shachou Battle material (availability-permitting), and any Hitoribocchi / Iroduku / Fairy gone credits the sweep surfaces. ~15–18 tracks expected, with availability risk on Yutoria and Cinderella deep cuts.
- No solo companion possible. Zero original solo material; the CrosSing cover at slot 2 is the catalog’s closest solo moment and already sits in the playlist above.
